72 TITANO POINT
Reproduction of 4.75" revolver in metal and wood, with simulator loading and firing mechanism and rotating drum.
The Peacemaker revolver, also known as the Single Action Army (SAA), was designed by Samuel Colt in 1873 and was manufactured with several barrel lengths: the short version, 4.75 inches, the longer forms, 5.5 and 7.5 inches, or the impressive “Buntline Special,” 12 inches.
This weapon was initially used by the US military. However, within a few years most American citizens had one of these revolvers. The fact that it used ammunition of the same caliber as the Winchester M1873 rifle helped its popularization as a weapon in the American Old West in the late 19th century.
Curiously, this revolver has received numerous nicknames. In addition to the aforementioned Peacemaker, it is also known as the Frontier or Widowmaker, in reference to the ease with which this revolver leaves wives of the time widowed.
The film industry mythologized the "Peacemaker" in the westerns of the 40s and 50s, and collaborated with big screen stars such as John Wayne or Gary Cooper. Roosevelt also had one engraved with his initials and George S. Patton used two.
