The sickle is an indispensable tool for gardeners.
It allows you to harvest, cut small branches and collect flowers or fruit thanks to its curved blade.
The blade is 10 cm long and its handle is comfortable, and will remain so even after long hours of work.
The sickle has the Virobloc safety system created by Opinel: it allows you to lock the blade only when it is open.
Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is known for its cut and easy maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its excellent hardness is called martensitic. It has a percentage of carbon at least equal to 0.40% which allows to obtain a very satisfactory cut without being sensitive to corrosion.
Hardness of the blade 57-58 HRC
Beech is the most used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. Coming from French crops, it is hard, resistant and easy to work with. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous dark dashes. The handle is painted to be effectively protected from dirt and moisture.
