The Sottili are knives with magnificent curves. The profile of the Sottili is slender and elegant.
The No. 15 is the longest model. Its 15 cm blade ensures deep and precise cuts. The beech wood handle, in addition to being elegant, perfectly fits the shape of the hand, ensuring a comfortable and safe grip.
The knife features a double ring system to lock the blade in the open or closed position.
Blade Material:
Hardness 55-57 HRC. European origin.
The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is a grade optimized to ensure high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade has an excellent cutting edge and high resistance to abrasion (wear) that allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramic, before needing to be resharpened. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel has the advantage of being maintenance-free under normal conditions of use. However, it can reach its limits when exposed to prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergents, etc.).
Handle:
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. Coming from French plantations, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous dark lines. The handle is varnished to be effectively protected from dirt and humidity.
