An interesting concept that has amazing results! Instead of the standard tube packaging, this "H" -shaped replacement forces the rubber into a more natural cup around the BB.
So instead of the hop gum simply gripping the top edge of the BB, the "H" shaped gasket grabs a much larger surface area and thus offers more spin and finer adjustment.
