PRIMITIVE CROSSBOW MIDDLE AGES (12.01)

Crossbow called primitive due to the simplicity of the trigger mechanism. In fact, the release lever is placed in the upper part of the holder and acts directly on the rope, without the interposition of a nut. Holders in national hard fiber wood with carving and geometric decorations. The rope, made of woven hemp threads, is attached to the pointed ends of the steel bow, covered with leather trim. Bracket, trigger, front sight and sight table are in burnished metal, while the applications are in gilded metal. Comes complete with a dart with gold metal cap and colored ostrich feather. Weapon used for hunting small game during the 16th-17th centuries.
